We work to make abortions accessible for all people. We believe in reproductive justice and know it's beyond abortion, which is why West Fund is engaged in local community issues ranging from gentrification, the environment, immigration, sexual health education and voter engagement. The safety of our communities and families depends on our collective political participation and civic engagement.
We seek to center marginalized people and communities historically underrepresented in mainstream reproductive justice movements. The tools we utilize are anti-racist principles from The People's Institute for Survival and Beyond (PISAB), and the Jemez Principles for Democratic Organizing. By trusting in these principles, we hope to continue to grow, stay grounded, be critical, and always compassionate.
Our vision is to live in a society where equal access to healthcare is guaranteed for all people without barriers or hurdles - regardless of their economic situation. We believe in an equitable and compassionate society where anyone and everyone can live happy and fulfilling lives. We continue to work on our vision daily by acting on our values both individually and as an organization. Our practices are reminders of the future we wish to create, and the legacy of our past ancestors, present team members, and future peoples we hope will live in that creation.
